Biography
I have a BSc (Hons) Textile Design and Technology from the University of Huddersfield and an MA from the Royal College of Art in 1995.
I have worked professionally in the UK and Italy, successfully producing knit collections for luxury brands such as: Hardy Amies; Laura Biagotti; G Fox; G B Pedrini; Coin; Coin Casa and Koan.
Consultancy with brands such as DKNY, Coin SpA. Worked collaboratively with Justin Oh; the resulting work featuring in London Fashion Week and the high profile fashion journal Collezioni.
Visiting Lecturer in Art, Design and Textiles.
Curriculum Leader of Fashion and Textiles at Croydon College. Instrumental in the creation of the borough’s ‘Festival of Creativity’ and stand-alone graduate fashion shows that went on tour at the AOC and the NEC.
Became Head of School (Croydon HEC).
During 2012 I was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune condition that led me to re-evaluate my hectic work lifestyle and opportunities as a creative. I began working part-time managing Adult Education for the Creative Industries in East London. I began painting and making tapestry pieces attending Morley College in the evening once a week for 3 terms.
I have been enthusiastically and addictively weaving since 2015.
I am a member of the British Tapestry Group (London).
