Sketchbook

I usually begin by exploring through drawing, exploiting form, collage and colour. Inspiration may be a memory, a dream, an interest in archaeology or folklore or even a scene from a walk or swim. Ideas can be swiftly abandoned or further researched and worked upon. Ideas then diverge into a series of possible tapestries. These are sampled and simplified until ready to be woven.

Below are some of my scribbles and ‘colourings in’ that form the beginnings of my processes.
